Volvo owners appreciate their key fob's convenient remote that comes with features. They can lock and unlock their car as well as start the motor and even locate it via an app for smartphones.

Put the key fob face up on a clean surface. Find the button that will let it go. Place a coin in between the fob cover and the fob, then carefully pull up.

Unlocking the Doors

Volvo's remote keyfobs allow you to unlock your vehicle's doors, tailgate, and flaps for filling with fuel with the push of the button. The remote key fobs can also turn on the ignition and activate the alarm. They can even operate the sunroof when it's equipped. You'll never have to look for your keys or lose access to your vehicle.

You may not be aware of key fob features that aren't visible. One of these is an unlocked and lock button that you can press in the event your key fob battery dies.

To push the manual lock/unlock button, hold your key fob with the Volvo logo facing up. Find the black button near the edge of your key fob and gently press it. This will open a cover that protects the key blade that is manual. The cover can be flipped counterclockwise by using a flathead or coin.

The Engine is Ready to Start

Modern volvo key fob key fobs provide a level of convenience and functionality that is not available with traditional manual keys. But, just like any other battery-powered electronic device, a key fob can be depleted of its charge or cease functioning over time. If you notice that your key fob is less responsive when you press the lock or unlock button, it could be time to replace its battery.

You can activate this feature with the key fob if your car is equipped with a dealer-installed Engine Remote Start. The car will then heat or cool to the exact temperature it was at when parked. It will continue to run for a maximum of 15 minutes.

Remove the cover that covers the back of the key fob using your fingernail. Under the cover and on a diagonal at the body's edge, you'll find a button. Take it off by sliding it downwards and to the right. The cover will come loose and slide off revealing the manual blade! If you're not able to locate the button, check the now-revealed manual key access for the lever or slot that is hidden.

Closing the Windows

One of the features that is hidden that is not visible on Volvo key fobs is the ability to close all windows at once using them. This is great when you're trying to squeeze into a cramped parking space, or simply when you want to get some fresh air in the cabin while driving.

Press and hold the unlocking button on your volvo key programming cost remote control for four seconds. This will lower the windows and the sunroof if you have one. Then, when you're finished with the car you can lock everything by pressing the lock button a second time for four seconds.

You can also use your key fob to trigger your car's panic alarm. This will emit a loud, attention-grabbing blare which can deter thieves and allow you to return home safely after a long night out. This feature is handy when you live in a dangerous area or want to protect your family while away from home.

The opening of the Tailgate

If you have the Hands-Free Liftgate with Logo Projection and Programmable Height (if equipped) Then you can open it using the key fob. Simply press the button to open it, and use the same button to close it once you're done.

Turning off the Alarm

Modern key fobs offer many advantages over a standard mechanical car key. However, they're not able to work completely for a long time, and the batteries eventually go out of service. You can program your key fob at home if are in a rush or don't have the time to visit the store.

Find a smooth surface and lay out your key fob, battery, and extra keys. Set the key fob with the Volvo logo facing upwards, then locate a small black button on the bottom left of the fob and slide it downwards and to the right. The cover will begin to loosen and fall off and reveal the mechanical key blade underneath.

You can unlock all doors and the reargate by pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice. The lock button also closes the windows and the sunroof (if fitted) by pressing it for two seconds. Reconnect the battery and the alarm should cease. If it doesn't, the owner's manual should have a way to reset the alarm.
