WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of the item by +3. A random substat is also increased with each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

Upgrades will cost more depending on the item level, however, they are always cheaper than buying new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display an item's preview at its next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.

The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for example. This is particularly relevant for rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
