WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item Upgrade level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item upgrading used to upgrade item the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the item level, however they'll always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment. For example upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to level up weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players through item level upgrade upgrader NPCs in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using an button, which will display an image of the item at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current item level and the weapon's price is higher than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it can be re-downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower price.

Item upgraders can be found in a variety of locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining an entirely new recipe. The discount on upgrades increases as more items are upgraded. It can be increased by having players complete certain achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II, there is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are only available via a variety of ways. This is both a benefit and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been tweaked a bit, with several new features added. After a player has earned an upgrade to a particular level of an item for a specific armor slot, upgrading additional items to that level will cost less, even if they are part of another set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones required for upgrades is decreased, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones are achieved.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW players have a few options. They can use Flightstones which are a common upgrade currency that is available to everyone players, or crests, which are more specialized and are used to upgrade specific levels of items. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1 and are available in four ranks.

First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with a different upgrade path. Another significant modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to use them properly. It is best to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can locate, and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly true for items such as rings and trinkets that occupy several slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
