Its automatic bin emptying is among the most efficient features we've seen in the form of a robot, and it works well with both hard floors and carpets. The app guides you through the entire process. It is also easy to use and set up. Its ability to resume the same place it left off during our tests is an additional impressive feature. It was able to do this for 77 minutes on one cleaning before the battery was exhausted.

The i3+ EVO, unlike some of the other robot vacuum cleaner amazon vacuums that we tested has a self-emptying bin that automatically disposes of debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base once it is full. This makes it easier to maintain the unit and keeps the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it still requires manually empty after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.

Similar to the i7, this model also uses the latest floor sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However, the i3+ EVO only stores one map, whereas the i7 can store multiple. The map of the i7 can be used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not the i3+ EVO.

While the i3+ EVO is superior in removing debris on surfaces than the other robovacs we reviewed but it's not the best vacuums in terms of cleaning corners and edges. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being fairly silent. It was quite rough on furniture, as it forced chairs away. It also made some collisions with the sides of the bed.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

If you're looking to increase your robot vacuum collection or are just starting out, the Q5 Pro is a great choice. When the battery is low, it returns automatically to its dock where it recharges before resuming cleaning from where it left off. You can control the Q5 Pro via the app and make voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

This is the first robot we've seen that has 3D mapping. This along with other advancements made it perform extremely well in our tests for vacuuming and mopping test. It allows you to schedule cleanings, set no-go zones and see the battery's status among other things. The app is easy to use, but it isn't compatible with Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to indicate that the feature will be delayed until 2025.
