It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in robot vacuums. It's powered by a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.

It is very fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It is able to vacuum carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one pass. The suction motor's 8,000pa makes short work of picking up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, isn't as impressive. The rotating mop spins fast and uses 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a bit more than other robots that vacuum and mop. This is helpful when you're trying to get into difficult corners or along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't produce the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and works well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum for mopping purposes you must be aware of this.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, but it has some distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its massive dock, which serves as the robot's charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a clean sink, and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are concerned about their children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a hazard, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have an "stuck status" alert on its application.

Another possible issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use and can cause mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxy models.
