1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling, the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent alternative for those who want a a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dustbin of the robot after it has filled up.

Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors and they're excellent in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ doesn't have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have test. It can get stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot suggests cleaning up the area where the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station's dust bin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes 3 hours to charge.

2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning jobs and control your robot cleaning machine with voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ was more agile and faster than our top choice which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions, move itself around the room and sweep a specific space. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. After connecting we were able to use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world of cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model is an automobile. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its sophisticated whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets, and then pick up large dust or crumbs. It comes with three suction modes to match the task at hand. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.

This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also provides the ability to connect two attachments and a Wand. This is a major improvement over older Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average not an extraordinary run time for a battery-powered cordless vac. This is enough time to clean a typical-sized home, but not enough to reach every area. (A second time usually works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its advantages It's lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on a robot. It's capable of sucking up all kinds of debris in our tests, and it often goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls and walls, which is a nice feature.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top choices and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it often will run out of battery before making it back to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower recurring cost, is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and is better able to maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled with the voice assistant on your smartphone. It is also more durable and has a stronger motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and carpets with low pile, while providing a greater variety of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot cleaner amazon vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations, docking frequency settings and many more. It's easy to comprehend and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. The app allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that has a tendency to cause confusion for other robots I've tried.
