The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to understand why it's received the highest praise from its customers. It's extremely light - the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg and it's easy to put together. I was able to get it up and running in less than five minutes - which is remarkable considering it also includes attaching fabric for the carrycot.

The seat is large and comfortable for Annie who is 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket is spacious with plenty of room and I like that the handle bar features pockets to keep your keys and phone safe.

The only downside is that the handlebar is quite low, which can be an issue for parents who are taller. It's covered in a soft, comfy leather-like material, and is easy to clean.

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is made for sporty parents who are eager to go outside and explore. The large pneumatic wheels are able to be used on forest and field paths. The front wheel can be locked and swivels to allow for greater versatility. It also comes with a padded 5-point safety harness and a front bar to keep your little one safe throughout your journey, while the parking brake reliably prevents the stroller from moving even when you take a break. The seat can be repositioned to a laying position and the canopy can be opened for maximum air circulation during hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm, to fit mum or dad.

Whether you're going for a quick jog or a hike that lasts a while, the Runner will be there to accompany you on your journeys with a fully-flat lie-flat seat and suspension air wheels that guarantee an unhurried ride. The front wheel is lockable for greater stability on narrow streets and crowded sidewalks, and the stroller folds easily to fit in car boot spaces and storage areas.

It's the most recent - and priciest - product in their bargain-priced lightweight stroller range and like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo is car seat compatible so that you can use it from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace features some stunning design features, including a rose gold tint to the chassis, hood and stroller trims, which really set it apart from its competition. The stroller and car seat fabrics are fashionable in tan, grey and cream. You can also choose to add handles made of leather and a bumper bar to match.

The stroller seat can be used from birth until a maximum weight of 22kg. It can easily be converted into a 2-in-1 reversible position, which is either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat has multi lie back positions, softly padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy with concealed zip sections, a viewing see through flap and a retractable sun visor section.

When folded in half, the Pace is 56 33 x 43 x 32cm, which means it passes for hand luggage with Easyjet and Ryanair among other carriers. Two buttons on each side are easy to use and can be clicked into the right position.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain pushchair, Bugaboo's new Fox 5 promises to do everything. Its unique chassis, coupled with a shorter wheel-distance, makes it more maneuverable than its predecessor. I tried it out with my two children - an infant and an eight week old - over the rocky roads along woodland paths, grassy trails and even cobblestones.

The large puncture-proof wheels - either 22cm or a bit larger - can handle various terrains. They also have a handy flap that can open or closes to let more air in should you need it this is a nice feature. It's slightly larger than other pushchairs, but it doesn't feel bulky or heavy when you are pushing it over bumpy surfaces.

The fabric of the seat can be machine washed, and the faux leather frames and grips are easy to clean. It is also quieter than other pushchairs and I was comfortable in the city streets. Another benefit is that it incorporates accessory points, which means you can add footmuffs parasols, changing bags and even a tray for snacks. You can also use the hood to block rain and wind, but it's not waterproof. It's a single stroller, but you can attach their Comfort Wheeled Board (not included) to give your child some extra leg room. The bassinet took about 20 minutes to set-up and it took the same amount of time to transform it into an actual seat.
