1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's most advanced robot to date is the Roomba j7+. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste most other robots can't avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of any object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo j7+ is also the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, removing dirt and spills with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't sweep in areas that you don't would like. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can start and stop it by speaking to it.

The design is also superior to the competition. It features a sleek, high-end piece that looks like a toy rather than the loud and annoying robot. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it across the floor. It even managed to catch small gravel and sand that other robots can't. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, it's a good option for those who want both mopping and a vacuum. It's not too expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best robot vacuum cleaner option is probably hybrid. These bots are equipped with a water tank so they can mop and vacuum simultaneously. They also come with a variety of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they can be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock has some of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the least expensive model of their auto-empty line. While it may not come with some of the expensive features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) but it's an excellent choice for those who are willing to make some compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great choice for homes that have many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning dust bunnies, which is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums often fail. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is superb and has very few missed corners and on walls.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled using the buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, modify your home map or re-label the rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, however, once it's in place emptying the bin is done without difficulty. It also has an impressive LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people but it can assist you in keeping the track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot vacuum cleaner price easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is one of the best automatic vacuum cleaner in the industry however it's quite expensive.

It's a small base station that looks beautiful and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It stores clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which many other robots require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at collecting debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs. This means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It can't navigate stairs as well as some competitors, either and it doesn't have a dock that lets the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.

However, if you're looking to save money, or just don't care about the limitations of this robotic There are many alternatives available which include a variety of eufy models for considerably less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features like stairs, a fully-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy, an Anker company, has a track record of producing robot vacuums that strike a good balance between features, performance and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps needed to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. You'll need to leave the dock close to an electrical outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move however.

The G30 is small, 2.85 inches tall to be exact It will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design is more modest than other models, sporting a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge and Spot Clean (which cleans the area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The main characteristic that sets the G30 above the rest is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable objects in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning from where it began.

The elegant G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is much better constructed, has lower recurring costs, is charged faster and offers similar battery life while offering superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't require to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 however is more affordable and much more manageable to maintain. Its smaller size means that it doesn't have to be emptied as often, and it has less difficulty with bulky items such as cereal.
