The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are both identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the robot's dustbin once it gets full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they're excellent at getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home that help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a way that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ isn't able to have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top rated robot vacuum (more about Metooo)-rated robots we have test. It may be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or clutter it might come across. It's also a good idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they do not become blocked by dirt. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station's dust bin. Then it continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery can last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and it takes around three hours to recharge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest features. It has self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its auto-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot using voice or through the app.

In our tests the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our runner-up which was the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin, which removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with best amazon vacuum Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room and vacuum a particular area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with cordless vacs that look like minivans or buses, this small Dyson model feels like an old-fashioned sports car. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It can quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.

The model also comes with docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and provides easy access to two attachments as well as a wand clip. This is a huge improvement over the older Dysons models, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. Its claims on the market that it can provide up to 60 minutes of running time are not true as CR's tests have shown. This is a common battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. It's enough time to clean the average-sized home but not enough to reach every spot. (A second run generally works). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694"

The 694 is a basic buy robot vacuum cleaner vacuum that's an excellent choice for those who don't have lots of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It's capable of sucking up all debris types and sizes during our tests, and it often goes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front end helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice feature.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it lacks the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models like our top 10 robot vacuum cleaner selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. Because of this, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords and furniture that isn't in good condition, and often will run out of battery before making it back to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, can change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name you see on all sorts of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're one of the most reputable robotic vacuum and mop makers. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings and many more. It's easy to understand and user-friendly, as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It removed 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried, which might be a problem for some buyers.

The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature lets you check in on your children or pets while you're away. The filter and the dust bin can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The app allows you to alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it's stuck.

The app makes it possible to steer the robot manually in the event of need. For example my living room rug has a darkly-colored border that tends to cause confusion for other robots I've tested. However the HRV 425BL kept moving across the border without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving advantage.
